PRESIDIO TERRACE
In a historic, gated cul-de-sac, this small neighborhood contains only 36 lots and is rich in history and architectural styles. Originally designed by George Applegarth in 1908, the multilevel residence retains its original character while living like a new home.
Larkspur Builders restored intricate period millwork and preserved the leaded and stained-glass windows, which define the formal rooms and upper floors, while updating kitchens, baths, and building systems for contemporary living. The main level keeps the original layout: a formal living and dining room that flows into a sunlit family room and deck, alongside a working kitchen that still overlooks the garden, with a casual dining nook and a large pantry for storage and prep. Upstairs, four bedrooms include an owner’s suite with a fireplace and an en-suite bath. Below, a wine cellar, laundry, and plenty of storage support both entertaining and daily living.
Outside, we carefully salvaged and repurposed the existing weathered cedar shingles across new areas of the home, adding character and continuity, preserving the home’s story while reducing waste. A long driveway leads to a freestanding garage, which is being transformed into an ADU.
